About the role#
As a Radiology Student, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. This position allows you to build technical skills and clinical competency through supervised learning across various imaging modalities. You will support patient care by assisting with exams and maintaining a safe work environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiologic examinations while following department protocols and verifying patient identification.
- Position patients and select technical factors to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
- Communicate with patients to provide instructions and ensure their comfort during procedures.
- Follow safety standards for radiation, infection control, and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Label images accurately and use side markers according to department standards.
- Document procedures in the appropriate systems and enter charges.
- Maintain a clean and organized imaging area to support staff and patient safety.
- Seek guidance from technologists and instructors to improve your clinical performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Between 0 and 1 years of clinical experience.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification, which must be obtained within 30 days of your hire date.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of radiation safety principles and infection prevention.
