About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on preparing you for a future Pharmacist position by building clinical and technical skills within a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team with prescription fulfillment, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Follow company procedures to maintain safety and patient privacy.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to work a part-time schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
