About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a training roadmap designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. This role involves gaining experience across pharmacy operations while contributing to a safe and inclusive environment for patients.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly.
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit information on a patient’s medical history under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where allowed by state regulation.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
