About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in the homebuilding process. You will work within a primary department or functional area to gain exposure to professional operations at D.R. Horton. The program includes departmental rotations, project work, administrative support, and jobsite observations. You will gain insight into how different areas of the company support business operations and the customer experience.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations in your assigned office, field location, or jobsite.
- Assist with research, reporting, and department-specific projects.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Participate in training programs, meetings, and rotations.
- Conduct all business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner.
- Work overtime or travel for business needs as required.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university as a junior or senior, or recent graduation.
- Coursework or a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
- Interest in homebuilding, financial services, land development, or corporate operations.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and ask questions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and an ability to learn new software.
- Strong organizational skills to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying work environments.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree may also be considered.
