About the role#
Dee Zee, Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Training & Development Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site in Des Moines to support our operational and safety training programs. This role provides hands-on experience with learning management systems and safety compliance while helping ensure employees are ready for work on the plant floor. You may spend time in production areas where you could encounter dust, coolant, mist, noise, or temperature changes.
What you'll do#
- Manage data and administrative tasks within the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Track training records to find gaps in certifications or required coverage.
- Help schedule and document plant safety training initiatives.
- Assist with weekly orientation sessions for new hires.
- Maintain training databases and create reports for the team.
- Support special projects related to safety and manufacturing training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Industrial Technology, Occupational Safety, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to focus on small details.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- An interest in manufacturing operations, workforce training, or safety compliance.
- Experience with databases or LMS platforms is helpful but not required.
- Ability to work well with others across different teams.
