About the role#
Dee Zee, Inc. is looking for a Health & Safety Intern to support our workplace safety initiatives and compliance programs. You will work alongside experienced safety professionals to gain hands-on experience with safety training, incident investigations, and documentation. This is a full-time, paid, rolling internship based on-site at our manufacturing facility.
What you'll do#
- Track safety data and manage compliance recordkeeping.
- Support incident and near-miss investigations, including documentation and follow-up tasks.
- Conduct safety inspections and identify hazards on the plant floor.
- Develop and maintain training records and safety documentation.
- Assist with employee orientation sessions regarding health and safety requirements.
- Contribute to projects that improve our safety culture.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Public Health, Industrial Technology, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across teams.
- An interest in workplace safety, compliance, or manufacturing operations.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that includes exposure to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and variable temperatures.
