About the role#
This position allows current students to gain experience in education while supporting peers in core subject areas like math, reading, science, and social studies. You will work in elementary, middle school, or early childhood learning centers during non-scheduled class times. You will report to teachers and school leaders to help manage classroom activities and student progress.
What you'll do#
- Help prepare classrooms for lessons and assist with displaying student work.
- Support teachers by helping students understand instructions and curriculum materials.
- Maintain equipment and resources used by students.
- Set and meet individual goals under the direction of teachers.
- Contribute to conversations regarding equity and barriers to student success.
- Handle basic student record keeping and other assigned duties.
- Follow school policies regarding safety, confidentiality, and data protection.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Denver Public Schools student.
- You must live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.
- You must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
- A commitment to educational excellence and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard.
