About the role#
Dewberry is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in our Peoria, Illinois office. This full-time internship is designed to help you build professional knowledge while applying standard engineering techniques to real-world tasks. You will gain hands-on experience by working on projects similar to those handled by our full-time staff.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to projects including schools, health care centers, higher education facilities, office buildings, industrial buildings, and water or wastewater treatment facilities.
- Assist with the preparation of civil and structural engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Apply standard engineering procedures and criteria to complete assigned tasks.
- Participate in a series of professional development workshops and networking events.
- Collaborate on a summer-long group project alongside firm leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. program for Civil or Architectural Engineering, with a preference for those focusing on Structural Engineering.
- Exposure to civil or structural engineering design concepts.
- Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines within a team environment.

- This position is based on-site in Peoria, Illinois.
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
