About the role#
This position is for a Student Teaching Assistant for the ANI-1000 course during the Fall 2026 term. You will work directly with instructor Dan Daly to support students in their animation coursework. This role is paid and requires on-site work in Redmond, Washington.
What you'll do#
- Handle classroom setup and general instructor assistance.
- Provide technical support for programs including TVPaint, Rough Animator, Procreate, and Toon Boom Harmony.
- Assist students during labs and scheduled office hours, including potential online meetings.
- Offer constructive feedback and perform draw-overs for students.
- Collaborate with other TAs and assist with covering additional class times when needed.
- Track and report your hours worked.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Successful completion of ANI-101 and ANI-151, or ANI-1000, with a grade of B+ or higher.
- Proven proficiency with course material and strong 2D drawing skills.
- Solid understanding of the 12 principles of animation and basic character construction.
- Ability to communicate clearly and provide professional critiques.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to helping fellow students succeed.
- Comfort using various software programs (intro-level knowledge of Maya is a plus).
- Good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Employment dates: August 31 to December 11, 2026.
- Hours: 4 to 6 hours per week.
- Wage: $17.13 to $18.25 per hour, based on your number of terms worked at the institution.
- Note: You must reside in Washington state. You cannot work during times when you are scheduled for classes.
