About the role#
DigiPen Institute of Technology is hiring a Student Teaching Assistant for the DES-270-A User Research I course for the Fall 2026 term. This is a paid, on-site position based in Redmond, Washington. You will report directly to the instructor, Joshua Savage, to support the classroom environment and assist fellow students.
What you'll do#
- Grade student work and provide grading recommendations to the instructor.
- Assist students during labs and scheduled office hours.
- Provide constructive feedback on student assignments and lab reports.
- Help with equipment setup and operation, such as running slide decks during lectures.
- Track and report your hours worked.
- Meet with students online if required.
- Attend weekly meetings with the instructor for performance feedback.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculated student at DigiPen with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Completion of DES-270 with a grade of B or better.
- Proven proficiency with the course material.
- Access to a laptop during course time.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor other students.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to help others succeed.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and provide professional critique.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington, United States.
- Term: August 31 to December 3, 2026.
- Hours: 15 hours per week.
- Wage: $17.13 to $18.25 per hour, based on previous terms worked at DigiPen.
- Class schedule: Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.
- Note: You cannot work during any time you have a scheduled class. You must reside within the state of Washington.
