About the role#
This position supports the ART-1000-B course taught by Sarah M. Zankowski during the Fall 2027 term. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the instructor to assist in the classroom, facilitate student presentations, and provide mentorship to students. This is a paid, part-time role requiring 8 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Take notes during class lectures.
- Grade student work and upload grades to Moodle.
- Provide constructive feedback on assignments to ensure consistency and clarity.
- Assist students during published office hours.
- Send reminder notifications regarding deadlines and missed assignments.
- Track and report your hours worked.
- Assist with equipment setup and operation, such as running slide decks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Proven proficiency with the ART-1000 course material and a grade of B or better in that course.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- A positive attitude toward learning and a willingness to help others succeed.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to provide professional critiques to fellow students.
- Previous experience in tutoring or mentoring is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington. You must reside in Washington to perform this work.
- Schedule: Monday and Thursday, 10:20 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.
- Employment dates: August 31 to December 10, 2026.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, with the role consisting of 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
