About the role#
DigiPen Institute of Technology is hiring a Teaching Assistant for MUS-120/MUS-120L for the Fall 2026 term. This is a paid, part-time, on-site position based in Redmond, Washington. You will work under the direction of James Borchers to support classroom operations and student learning.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor in the classroom as needed.
- Set up classroom and studio equipment.
- Take attendance.
- Pre-grade course work and assist with grading outside the classroom.
- Meet regularly with the instructor for feedback and duty updates.
- Support students outside of class hours to answer questions and help with course work.
- Track and report your hours worked.
What you'll need#
- You must be a currently matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- You must have taken and passed MUS-120/MUS-120L with a grade of B or better.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is required.
- You must be in good academic standing and not on academic warning.
- Proficiency with course materials, concepts, and tools.
- Comfort interacting with peers on an instructional level as a mentor.
- Ability to work on-site in Washington state.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Term: August 31, 2026, to April 23, 2027.
- Hours: 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $17.13 to $18.25 per hour, based on your number of terms worked at DigiPen.
- Note: You cannot work during times when you have a scheduled class.
