About the role#
The Power Contracts and Market Origination team manages the procurement of renewable energy resources. As an intern, you will work with experienced professionals on competitive bidding, contract administration, and wholesale energy markets. This role supports the procurement of Power Purchase Agreements and Renewable Energy Certificates to help meet energy goals in Virginia and North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Maintain contract information for Power Purchase Agreements and Renewable Energy Certificates.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and exhibits for business and regulatory needs.
- Participate in annual and quarterly Request for Proposal processes.
- Research energy markets, contracts, and industry trends.
- Document and update departmental procedures and job aids for process improvement projects.
- Support contract administration and monthly billing through data review and validation.
- Collaborate on special projects related to renewable energy procurement and contract management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with close attention to detail.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical and analytical calculations.
- Initiative and a desire to learn.
- Ability to build relationships and work in cross-functional teams.

- This is an on-site role based in Richmond, Virginia.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
