About the role#
Join the Manufacturing Excellence Sustainability team at our global headquarters. This internship focuses on the intersection of engineering, data analytics, and economics. You will help shape energy strategy across more than 60 global manufacturing facilities by working with real-world utility and operational data.
What you'll do#
- Build analytical tools and dashboards to track energy costs and identify electrification opportunities.
- Collect and validate utility rate data, including electricity, natural gas, demand charges, and time-of-use pricing.
- Develop a global Spark Gap model to inform long-term energy strategy.
- Integrate utility tariffs into the internal energy monitoring platform.
- Evaluate demand management and battery energy storage projects.
- Quantify the impact of energy initiatives on operating costs, profitability, and carbon emissions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program pursuing a degree in engineering, data science, physics, or mathematics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data visualization, charts, and basic formulas.
- Knowledge of college-level algebra.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is preferred.
- Experience with PivotTables, statistics coursework, carbon accounting, or chemistry is a plus.
- A strong interest in sustainability.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Bloomington, MN.
- The term lasts 10 to 12 weeks during Summer 2027.
