About the role#
The Enterprise Protective Services internship at Duke Energy offers students a chance to learn about critical infrastructure protection and corporate security. You will work on projects that support the safety of our people, assets, and operations. This program helps you build professional skills while networking with security experts and fellow interns.
What you'll do#
- Support security initiatives focused on protecting company operations and assets.
- Research and analyze information to assist with internal and external investigations.
- Review digital evidence for security investigations, intelligence gathering, and reporting.
- Coordinate and network with local, state, and federal law enforcement and intelligence partners.
- Take part in site security assessments, equipment deployments, and other related security activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year degree program with a major in Criminal Justice, National Security, Intelligence, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
- An expected graduation date no earlier than August 2027.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without employment-based sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- You will work in a hybrid environment, splitting time between remote and onsite locations. You must live within a reasonable commuting distance to the Charlotte University Area.
