    About the role#

    The Office of Undergraduate Education at Duke University is hiring a Nowicki Fellow for Student Engagement. This role offers a recent graduate the chance to support academic and faculty engagement across the university. You will rotate through various divisions within the office to gain broad exposure to undergraduate education, with tasks tailored to your specific interests and strengths.

    What you'll do#

    • Design, plan, staff, and assess events and meetings for undergraduate students and faculty.
    • Work with student groups and the Student Advisory Board to increase awareness of office initiatives.
    • Coordinate projects with campus partners.
    • Conduct research, including surveys and focus groups, with a focus on underrepresented student populations.
    • Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals for stakeholders.
    • Manage administrative tasks and develop communication strategies.

    What you'll need#

    • A Bachelor’s degree from Duke University (Class of 2022 through 2026).
    • Strong administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
    • An interest in student engagement, higher education, and inclusive practices.
    • High attention to detail and a willingness to assist where needed.
    • Preferred experience includes work with student organizations, event planning, qualitative or quantitative research, and communications or marketing.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Durham, North Carolina.
    • The term for this fellowship is Fall 2026.
