About the role#
As a Legal Intern, you will work within the Legal Services department at El Camino Health. This role offers an introduction to health law, including areas such as privacy, ethics, employment, and transactions. You will gain experience in an in-house legal environment while supporting the team with administrative tasks and specific projects.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research on transactions and other legal topics.
- Draft letters, contracts, and other legal documents, including proofreading and comparing edits.
- Manage historical legal and financial documentation by uploading and filing records into the database.
- Perform data entry and validation for the Contracts Management System.
- Learn healthcare contract terminology related to privacy, policy, and operations.
- Attend meetings with the Legal department.
- Complete three projects focused on data reconciliation, file management, and contract auditing.
- Research a topic of interest within healthcare law and present your findings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school.
- Interest in learning about legal arrangements for healthcare systems.
- Ability to analyze, write, and present ideas with clarity and conciseness.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for working in a legal environment.

- Location: Mountain View, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours bi-weekly.
- Compensation: $25.19 - $37.78 per hour.
- Term: Rolling.
