About the role#
This Mechanical Engineering Co-op position offers the opportunity to gain technical and professional experience in a real-world setting. You will work with experienced managers and business leaders while rotating through various departments, including the Engineering Lab, Computer-Aided Engineering, and Product Engineering. The role includes a final design project where you will manage the process from conceptual design and CAD layout to prototype testing and debugging. At the end of the term, you will present your findings to engineering leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist with setting up and conducting tests and gathering data.
- Analyze test data and learn data analysis techniques.
- Write test lab reports.
- Learn to use Solid Edge CAD software for 3D modeling of parts and assemblies.
- Build new design concepts and detailed drawings using CAD.
- Assist engineers in product development and sustaining engineering activities.
- Troubleshoot problems and develop creative solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's Degree program for Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Ability to work full-time during the scheduled semester.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher is preferred.
- Practical experience with hand or power tools and demonstrated mechanical aptitude are highly desirable.

- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with an hourly rate between $24 and $28, depending on your year in school and experience.
