    About the role#

    As a Chemical Engineering Intern, you will join a team focused on the design, development, and improvement of analytical sensors and measurement systems. This role provides exposure to chemistry, materials science, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering while you contribute to product design projects. You will work on real-world applications for industries like water treatment, chemical processing, and power generation.

    What you'll do#

    • Own a defined design project that contributes to new product development or technology investigation.
    • Design and execute laboratory experiments to characterize sensor performance.
    • Develop test plans and propose design approaches for validating concepts.
    • Analyze experimental data and translate findings into design recommendations.
    • Document results through technical reports, design summaries, and presentations.
    • Source materials, components, and equipment to support design objectives.
    • Collaborate with engineers, chemists, and manufacturing personnel.
    • Maintain laboratory safety by handling chemicals and following testing procedures.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or chemistry.
    • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) in-person.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States. Please note that sponsorship is not provided for this role.
    • Zero years of related professional experience required.
    • Preferred: Coursework or project experience in analytical chemistry, electrochemistry, or sensor design, and familiarity with measurement technologies like pH or conductivity.

    • Location: Shakopee, Minnesota.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Pay: $24-$28 per hour, commensurate with year in school and experience.
    • Term: Rolling.
