About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanic Intern to join our Equipment team for the summer of 2027. You will work alongside experienced mechanics and technicians to gain hands-on experience with heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers. This role helps you build a technical foundation for a career in the construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist mechanics with routine maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers.
- Observe and participate in diagnosing equipment issues to learn how to identify problems and develop solutions.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to support equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Maintain equipment-related reports, maintenance logs, and metrics.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Work with mechanics, equipment managers, and field staff to support the goals of the equipment division.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant degree or technical program such as Diesel/Heavy Equipment Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or Construction Management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Comfort working in both outdoor field settings and shop environments.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
