About the role#
This co-op position is based in Billerica, Massachusetts, and runs for six months starting in January 2027. You will join the Cleaning Technologies Development team to support the design and execution of experimental plans for new technology exploration. This role involves working with cross-functional groups to help drive the technology roadmap through scouting, prototype equipment design, and process optimization.
What you'll do#
- Research new filter cleaning technologies and improved processes to meet design specifications.
- Assist with commissioning new equipment and running experimental plans in the lab.
- Analyze data and provide progress reports or presentations to the team.
- Write standard operating procedures for new or improved processes.
- Engage with stakeholders across R&D, Operations, Facilities, and EHS.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical issues.
- Make recommendations for process improvements and communicate progress frequently.
- Handle general day-to-day laboratory and equipment tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program for Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a graduation date of June 2027 or later.
- Familiarity with your university requirements for participating in a co-op program.
- Interest or experience working in a chemical laboratory.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly in writing and verbally.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to take comprehensive notes and observations.
- Motivation to work as a self-directed team player who learns and adapts quickly.
- Ability to work independently in a chemical laboratory setting following EHS procedures.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January through June).
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
