    About the role#

    This is a full-time, on-site internship for a Field Engineer Intern II within the Heavy Civil division at Ferrovial. You will gain hands-on experience by rotating through safety, survey, estimating, project supervision, and field engineering tasks over the course of your internship.

    What you'll do#

    • Learn to conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Hazard Safety Observations (HSO).
    • Apply necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all jobsite activities.
    • Observe and prevent safety incidents while conducting jobsite audits.
    • Interpret construction plans and set layouts.
    • Survey for quantities and practice accurate conversions.
    • Assess man-hours, time, and materials required for production.
    • Communicate and delegate work plans to field crews.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Science, or Construction Management.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
    • A solid understanding of Construction Math.
    • Manual dexterity to handle items and work with your fingers.
    • Ability to perform moderate to high levels of physical activity in a field-based environment.
