About the role#
This is a full-time, on-site internship for a Field Engineer Intern II within the Heavy Civil division at Ferrovial. You will gain hands-on experience by rotating through safety, survey, estimating, project supervision, and field engineering tasks over the course of your internship.
What you'll do#
- Learn to conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Hazard Safety Observations (HSO).
- Apply necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all jobsite activities.
- Observe and prevent safety incidents while conducting jobsite audits.
- Interpret construction plans and set layouts.
- Survey for quantities and practice accurate conversions.
- Assess man-hours, time, and materials required for production.
- Communicate and delegate work plans to field crews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Science, or Construction Management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
- A solid understanding of Construction Math.
- Manual dexterity to handle items and work with your fingers.
- Ability to perform moderate to high levels of physical activity in a field-based environment.
