About the role#
Fischer Homes offers a co-op and internship program for students to gain practical experience in the construction industry. You will work alongside experienced Field Managers to oversee the home building process from start to finish. This is a full-time, paid position that provides hands-on training and exposure to residential construction operations.
What you'll do#
- Support Field Managers in the day-to-day management of new home builds.
- Communicate project progress to trade partners, vendors, and customers.
- Complete PACE eLearning courses to build your technical knowledge.
- Participate in Sapphire training to learn about scheduling, purchase order management, and warranty service administration.
- Observe home orientations and gain understanding through various job scopes.
- Travel regularly between different job sites throughout the workday.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Comfort working in environments that require physical movement, including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors and endure various weather conditions such as heat, cold, or rain.
- Willingness to wear required safety gear including hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.
