About the role#
This clinical placement offers an opportunity to work as part of a dialysis health care team. You will support the mission and values of Fresenius Medical Care while providing medical nutrition therapy under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian. This is a paid, part-time, on-site role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Conduct nutrition interviews with patients.
- Calculate diet prescription recommendations.
- Provide nutrition counseling to patients or their caregivers regarding renal diets.
- Collect data for initial, 90-day, semi-annual, and annual Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Assessments.
- Assist the registered dietitian in developing and implementing nutrition plans of care.
- Review monthly nutrition data with patients and caregivers.
- Practice writing monthly nutrition progress notes.
- Create nutrition-related projects for patients or staff, such as educational handouts or lobby activities.
- Attend Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement and other interdisciplinary team meetings.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, or current enrollment in an accredited Coordinated Program in Dietetics.
- Current enrollment in a Dietetic Internship or a university-based Coordinated Program in Dietetics accredited by ACEND.
- A desire to deliver superior patient care and embrace company values.
- Outstanding customer service skills are preferred.
