    About the role#

    General Motors is hiring Industrial Engineering students for hands-on co-op positions. You will work directly on manufacturing operations to improve efficiency and support our production goals. This role requires you to work on-site in a plant environment, where you will interact with various teams to analyze and optimize our processes.

    What you'll do#

    • Analyze the efficiency of manufacturing operations, including personnel, materials, machines, and facilities.
    • Confirm or recommend changes to plant layouts, labor control, and material control systems.
    • Develop accurate methods and optimum operation layouts.
    • Create operation descriptions and perform calculations for studies and change routines.
    • Communicate frequently with team members outside of your immediate work group.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
    • Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2030.
    • Enrollment in a co-op program through Kettering University or Rochester Institute of Technology.
    • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
    • Willingness to work in a plant environment, which may include loud, non-climate-controlled conditions.
    • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, and repetitive bending or reaching.

    • This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
    • Locations available: Flint, Michigan; Rochester, New York; and Tonawanda, New York.
