About the role#
This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to Quality Engineering projects within the Tech Ops division at Kite. You will work alongside teams responsible for maintenance, calibration, and validation, gaining experience in a biotechnology environment focused on CAR T-cell therapy development.
What you'll do#
- Analyze Maximo work order data to identify rework trends, backlog themes, and opportunities to improve Quality review cycles.
- Support Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) activities by assisting with documentation review, protocol organization, and discrepancy tracking.
- Assist with equipment record reconciliation and data gathering to support inspection readiness.
- Track Quality Engineering assignments, action items, and improvement commitments to increase operational visibility.
- Create practical project deliverables such as dashboards, trend summaries, process maps, and job aids.
- Collaborate across departments including Facilities, Validation, and Calibration to support process improvements.
- Present your project findings and work at the conclusion of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program in Computer Science, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Continued full-time enrollment in the Fall semester following the internship.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to commit to a 10-12 week full-time schedule between May and August.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
