About the role#
GMi is hiring students for a paid, full-time internship in commercial construction. This role provides hands-on experience by rotating between field operations, estimating, and project management. You will work alongside experienced professionals to build a foundation for a long-term career in the industry.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on field experience working with construction professionals.
- Assist with jobsite activities like layout, framing, and drywall installation.
- Support field leadership with material coordination, safety inspections, and quality control.
- Help project managers with budgeting, scheduling, and project documentation.
- Participate in progress walks, reporting, and production planning.
- Build relationships with field teams, office staff, vendors, and clients.
- Develop your understanding of construction documents and estimating tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong work ethic and the willingness to work in both office and field environments.
- A positive attitude and a desire to learn.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
- Ability to communicate professionally and work within a team.
- An interest in a long-term career in commercial construction.
- Prior construction experience is helpful but not required.

- This is an on-site role based in San Antonio, Texas.
- The internship is a paid, full-time position.
