About the role#
As a Patient Champion, you will conduct structured phone-based interactions with patients on behalf of healthcare organizations. This role allows you to gain clinical experience while working remotely. You will follow evidence-informed protocols to check in on patients, complete assessments, and manage escalations. All interactions are telephonic and do not require video or in-person contact.
What you'll do#
- Complete at least 6 hours of patient outreach per week on a schedule you build around your coursework.
- Conduct structured telephonic assessments and wellness check-ins using the Grapefruit Health platform.
- Document interaction outcomes accurately within the platform.
- Escalate patient safety concerns to a licensed clinical supervisor in real time.
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in onboarding training and ongoing check-ins.
What you'll need#
- Fluency in speaking and understanding Spanish.
- Active enrollment in a healthcare program at a college or university, such as Nursing, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition, or Kinesiology.
- A compatible computer and a cell phone with SMS capabilities.
- A quiet, private workspace free of background noise.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Reliable availability for a minimum of 6 hours per week.

- This position is fully remote and based in the United States.
- The role is part-time with a rolling term.
- This is a paid position.
- New hires complete a paid onboarding process covering the platform, communication frameworks, and HIPAA requirements.
