About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy field operations. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundations of the industry and prepare for a future career. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Gain experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Follow safety policies, including OSHA and DOT procedures.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree or certification from a college or university and in good academic standing.
- Ability to obtain a CDL and a commercial applicator license with required endorsements.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel independently and stay overnight when necessary.
- Ability to lift 51-70 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions or at elevated heights.
