About the role#
As a GMK Agronomy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in field operations and agronomy. You will work directly with our team to monitor crop health and support our daily agricultural services. This position is based in Antigo, Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Inspect customer crop fields to identify weeds, insects, and diseases using GPS technology.
- Document and photograph findings during field visits.
- Create and provide inspection reports to agronomy specialists and customers.
- Discuss field results with customers to answer questions and provide service.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facility equipment.
- Operate a company vehicle to travel to various field locations.
- Attend technical training sessions and meetings.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A basic understanding of production agriculture.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, or wet environments.
- Ability to lift 51-70 pounds regularly.
- Ability to walk through crop fields for visual inspections.
- Enrollment in or completion of studies in Agriculture, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
