About the role#
Join Stephenson Service Company as an Agronomy Intern for the Summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting agronomy operations and serving farmer-member customers. This role involves participating in the GROWMARK Internship Program, which includes professional development, networking, and a final capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Assist agronomy professionals with daily operations and customer service.
- Learn about crop production, plant nutrition, and crop protection products.
- Conduct field scouting, monitor crop health, and collect data.
- Help with research projects, plot work, and field demonstrations.
- Use precision agriculture technology for scouting tasks.
- Manage product inventory, ordering, and receiving.
- Attend grower events and visit FS locations to build professional relationships.
- Follow safety, stewardship, and regulatory compliance guidelines.
- Complete and present a summer internship project.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or certification program in agriculture at a college or university.
- Good academic standing.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Comfort working in various weather conditions and at elevated heights.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Lena, Illinois.
- The program runs for a minimum of 12 weeks during the Summer of 2027.
- Participation in all program activities, meetings, and three specific internship events is required.
