About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy and agricultural retail operations. You will support customer service efforts by monitoring crop health and reporting findings to specialists and clients. This is a full-time, paid position based in Leverett, Illinois.
What you'll do#
- Inspect customer crop fields to monitor health and identify weeds, insects, or diseases using Integrated Pest Management techniques.
- Document and photograph field findings to create accurate inspection reports.
- Discuss results with customers and agronomy specialists to answer questions.
- Assist with general agronomy functions and agricultural retail tasks.
- Maintain facility equipment and perform necessary repairs.
- Drive a company vehicle to various field locations.
- Attend technical training sessions and team meetings.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A basic understanding of production agriculture.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to travel independently to field sites.
- Physical ability to walk through crop fields and conduct visual inspections.
- Ability to lift 51-70 pounds frequently.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
