About the role#
Join the Stability and Control team within Flight Dynamics and Flight Sciences for a Spring 2027 internship. You will work on defining airplane stability and control requirements that drive the design and sizing of tail surfaces, flight control surfaces, and system architectures. This role involves working alongside professionals to shape the handling qualities of future aircraft.
What you'll do#
- Define airplane stability and control requirements.
- Perform desktop simulations and support pilot-in-the-loop simulations.
- Assist with flight testing for normal and abnormal operating conditions.
- Contribute to simulation model development and support flight control law design.
- Participate in preliminary aircraft design initiatives.
- Perform engineering toolset upgrades.
- Collect and analyze data to inform aircraft development decisions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Completion of your sophomore year prior to the start date.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Coursework in Aircraft Stability and Control, Aerodynamics, and/or Flight Dynamics.
- Strong MATLAB coding skills.

- This is an on-site, full-time internship for the Spring 2027 term.
