About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in the Jacksonville transportation engineering discipline. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer to support the planning and design of rural and urban roadways, freeways, and interstates. The role focuses on practical application of engineering principles for local, state, and private clients.
What you'll do#
- Prepare plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Gather and provide data for engineering or environmental reports.
- Perform and review calculations related to geometrics, transportation engineering, and quantities.
- Conduct field investigations and provide survey assistance.
- Document and observe construction operations.
- Write memoranda and reports, maintain records, and attend meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
- Completion of your sophomore year of study.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A valid driver’s license.
