About the role#
Heartland ABA offers a paid internship for those interested in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. This role serves as an entry point for students and individuals looking to gain real-world experience in mental health care. You will work directly with children with Autism to support their development and independence. This is a part-time position that requires a minimum commitment of 6 months.
What you'll do#
- Provide one-on-one ABA services to clients.
- Use evidence-based interventions to support behavior goals.
- Implement skill-building and care plans directly with clients.
- Record session data accurately using electronic devices.
- Foster a positive learning environment.
- Connect with families and collaborate with other providers to improve treatment outcomes.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to learn and a desire to help children with Autism.
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to stay calm during difficult situations.
- Reliable transportation.
- Completion of the 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician course is required.
- Preferred majors include Psychology, Sociology, Biology, Nursing, Public Health, and Human Resources.
