About the role#
HII is seeking a Corporate Business Management Intern to join the Internal Audit team for the Summer of 2027. This position is based in Newport News, Virginia. You will work with the team for 10 weeks to gain experience in risk management, governance, and internal controls.
What you'll do#
- Support the audit team with key aspects of the audit process.
- Assist with planning, scoping, and conducting walkthroughs of critical processes.
- Perform audit testing and summarize your findings.
- Help draft audit reports.
- Participate in SOX-related activities including documentation and testing of key controls.
- Attend team meetings and professional development sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year college or university (or 2+2 program) in Business Administration, IT, Accounting, or Finance.
- Status as a rising Junior or above, or current enrollment in a relevant Master's program.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to work a 40-hour work week for at least 10 weeks.
- US Citizenship.
- Intent to attend school in the fall following the internship.
