About the role#
Humber River Health is hiring Student Nurse Externs for the 9th floor. This is a temporary part-time position where you will support patients in a medicine and surgical program. You will work under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses to provide direct care.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct personal support to patients.
- Manage basic care needs, including bathing, toileting, and feeding, for up to 10 patients.
- Document activities of daily living, such as intake and output.
- Report clinical concerns immediately to your direct supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in years 2-4 of a nursing program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
- Understanding of technology use in a clinical setting.
- Good work attendance.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends (8 or 12-hour shifts).
- Contract duration: Through March 31, 2027.
- This is a paid position.
