    About the role#

    Humber River Health is hiring Student Nurse Externs for the medicine and surgical programs. This is a temporary part-time position. You will work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. These shifts may be 8 or 12 hours in length. You will report to the Manager of the 13/14 floor.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide direct personal support to patients.
    • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, and feeding.
    • Document activities of daily living, including intake and output.
    • Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses.
    • Report clinical concerns immediately to your supervisor.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in years 2-4 of a nursing program.
    • A current CPR certification.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within an inter-professional team.
    • A demonstrated understanding of technology use.
    • Good work attendance.
    • Ability to provide basic assistive care while receiving ongoing mentoring.

    • The role is based at the Humber River Health Wilson Site in Toronto, Ontario.
    • This is an on-site, paid position.
