    About the role#

    We are hiring Student Nurse Externs for our 7th floor medicine and surgical programs. This is a temporary part-time role that involves working rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. You will work under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses to support patient care.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide direct personal support to patients.
    • Assist up to 10 patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, feeding, and toileting.
    • Document activities of daily living, including intake and output.
    • Report clinical concerns to your supervisor immediately.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in years 2-4 of a nursing program.
    • A valid CPR certification.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
    • Ability to provide basic assistive care under supervision.
    • An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.
    • Completion of mandatory training modules, including privacy, confidentiality, WHMIS, fire safety, and hand hygiene.

    • Compensation: This is a paid position.
