About the role#
The HRIS Intern supports the Human Resources Information Systems team in the maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of Workday and related HR systems. This role provides hands-on experience with HR technology, data management, reporting, and system support. You will work closely with Human Resources, Recruiting, and Information Technology teams to develop foundational HRIS and analytical skills.
What you'll do#
- Serve as an HRIS partner supporting workstreams in Workday.
- Assist with day-to-day system support, data integrity, report analysis, and testing.
- Provide consultation to human resource and recruiting team members to gather requirements and provide solutions.
- Research current and upcoming Workday capabilities and evaluate releases to identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist in testing integrations, security, and annual events.
- Maintain master data values in Workday.
- Resolve Workday issues, unexpected results, or process gaps.
- Participate in scheduled and ad hoc training to improve policy and process knowledge.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Actively pursuing an associate or bachelor degree is preferred.
- Understanding of HR operations and experience in employee data management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with HR clients, cross-functional colleagues, and IT.
- Ability to accurately collect information to assess needs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload for timely resolution.
- Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.

Location & details#
- This is a part-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in West Des Moines, Iowa.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
