    About the role#

    This is a 12-week internship for a Water Resources Design Intern. You will work alongside our team of engineers to gain practical experience in the drainage aspects of infrastructure projects. You will be paired with a mentor who provides guidance and feedback throughout the summer. The goal is for you to learn our project processes and gain the confidence to manage tasks independently.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform engineering calculations and develop hydrologic and hydraulic models.
    • Support civil design, stream restoration, and other water resources design projects.
    • Assist with stormwater management programs and environmental permitting projects.
    • Help prepare designs that meet state stormwater management plan requirements.
    • Conduct field investigations and assist with surface water, groundwater, and soil sampling in various settings.
    • Aid senior staff with technical reports and document reviews.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as an academic junior or senior in a Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering degree program.
    • Experience with AutoCAD and other engineering or modeling software.
    • Strong MS Office skills, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for field investigations.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

    • Location: West Columbia, South Carolina.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks, May through August).
    • Modality: On-site, 5 days per week.
    • Status: Full-time and paid internship.
    • Note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of drug and background screenings.
