    About the role#

    This is a 2-year consecutive rotational development program designed for students pursuing degrees in engineering or industrial design. You will participate in assignments across engineering, product management, and technical services. The program combines hands-on work with technical workshops and mentorship to build a foundation for a career at Ingersoll Rand. Successful participants may be considered for permanent roles upon graduation.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist engineers with circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
    • Perform bench testing, measurement, and debugging of electronic circuits.
    • Support the development of embedded control systems and microcontroller-based designs.
    • Build and execute test plans for prototypes, components, and subsystems.
    • Document test results, design changes, and engineering observations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing groups.

    What you'll need#

    • BS/BA candidate in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or Computer Science.
    • Minimum overall GPA of 3.5.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, such as serving as a club officer, team captain, or resident advisor.
    • Basic understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
    • Familiarity with microcontrollers, sensors, and power electronics.
    • Ability to read schematics and use lab equipment like oscilloscopes, DMMs, and power supplies.
    • Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills.
    • Ability to be resilient and adapt to new information.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Hampton, New Jersey.
    • Modality: On-site at the engineering facility.
    • Status: Full-time, hourly position.
    • Pay: $22.50 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
    • Term: Rolling, 2-year consecutive internship program.
