About the role#
As a Module Engineering PhD Intern within the F25 Metals organization, you will work alongside engineers, technicians, and operations teams. You will support High Volume Manufacturing of leading-edge semiconductor technologies. This position provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and allows you to contribute to real-world engineering challenges.
What you'll do#
- Own and execute a project focused on process improvement, manufacturing efficiency, equipment performance, automation, data analytics, quality systems, or operational excellence.
- Lead your project from problem definition through execution and final presentation.
- Participate in day-to-day engineering activities and engage with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Observe manufacturing workflows and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Communicate data-driven recommendations to technical and business partners.
- Apply structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Academic coursework or research experience in semiconductor processing, materials science, microelectronics, or advanced materials.
- At least 3 months of educational, research, laboratory, internship, or industry experience.
- Availability for a 10 to 12-week summer internship.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools like Python, JMP, MATLAB, Power BI, Excel, or SQL.
- Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies such as root cause analysis, 8D, SPC, Pareto analysis, Design of Experiments, Lean, or Six Sigma.
- Ability to break down complex problems into executable plans and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
