About the role#
Interfor is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Intern for a Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Timmins, Ontario. You will work with experienced professionals to learn how safety and environmental practices function within a manufacturing operation. This role involves both office work and time spent on the mill floor.
What you'll do#
- Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives throughout the manufacturing site.
- Assist with hazard assessments, inspections, audits, and compliance activities.
- Review and analyze safety or environmental data to spot trends and areas for improvement.
- Help create or update training materials, procedures, and EHS documentation.
- Contribute to projects by reviewing requirements and identifying gaps.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary program for Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Public Health.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to analyze information and identify trends.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work in both office and industrial environments.
