About the role#
Interfor is hiring a Forestry Intern for a paid, full-time position based in Chase, British Columbia. This role offers hands-on experience in woodlands operations, focusing on the planning, harvesting, and regeneration of forest lands. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support safe and efficient operations. This position runs for a 4 to 8 month term, beginning in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to sustainable forest management through active fieldwork.
- Visit active worksites to observe the full lifecycle of forest planning and harvesting.
- Use industry tools such as GPS and mapping software.
- Support projects that contribute to responsible forest operations.
- Learn from and collaborate with experienced forestry professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary degree or diploma program related to Forestry, such as Environmental Engineering, Agriculture, Natural Resources, or Conservation.
- A basic understanding of safety rules and regulations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging weather and terrain.
- A valid driver's license.

- Term: Summer 2027 and Fall 2027.
- Compensation: Starting from $3,350 per month, depending on your year in school.
- Benefits: A temporary living allowance is provided for interns who relocate to the area.
