About the role#
Interfor is hiring a Forestry Operations Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will work alongside professionals to learn how equipment, technology, and processes function in a modern manufacturing environment. Interns receive a salary starting at $3,350 per month, depending on experience and year of study, and a temporary living allowance is provided if you are moving to the area.
What you'll do#
- Support forestry operations and sustainable forest management activities.
- Collect, organize, and analyze field or operational data to support decision-making.
- Use GPS, mapping tools, and operational information to assist with forestry and production projects.
- Collaborate with forestry professionals, contractors, and operations teams in both field and manufacturing settings.
- Gain insight into harvesting, forest planning, silviculture, and mill operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or diploma program in Forestry, Forestry Operations, Wood Products Processing, Operations Management, Engineering, Agriculture, or Natural Resources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- A valid driver's licence.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel over uneven terrain.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

- Locations: Elk Lake, Ontario and Timmins, Ontario.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4 to 8 months).
- Modality: On-site.
