About the role#
Interfor is looking for a Maintenance Intern to join our team in Timmins for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position where you will work alongside experienced professionals to build practical skills in the wood products industry. We offer a salary starting at $3,350 per month, depending on your year in school and experience, as well as a temporary living allowance if you are moving to the area.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Learn how industrial maintenance supports safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Contribute to projects focused on equipment reliability, process improvement, and operational performance.
- Work with maintenance and operations professionals to solve real-world challenges.
- Build technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills through exposure to modern sawmill operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with team members.
- Interest in hands-on work in an industrial setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

- Location: Timmins, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027, with availability for 4 to 8 months preferred.
- Modality: This is an on-site, paid position.
