About the role#
The Preferred Communities program supports refugee and ORR-eligible populations who have challenging needs, including those with serious medical conditions, women at risk, and elderly refugees. As an intern, you will report to the ICM Caseworker and assist the team in providing essential support and service delivery. This is a hybrid, unpaid internship requiring a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week for at least three months.
What you'll do#
- Manage documents by scanning and filing records.
- Handle data entry and take notes during meetings.
- Help clients build problem-solving skills to support their self-sufficiency.
- Accompany caseworkers to appointments and assist with service delivery.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and development programs.
What you'll need#
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Attention to detail and good organizational habits.
- Creativity and the initiative to follow through on projects.
- A strong desire to help people and an interest in working in a multi-cultural setting.
- Proficiency with technical tools.
- Majors in Political Science, Sociology, International Relations, Psychology, or Human Resources are preferred.

- Schedule: Primarily weekdays between 9 AM and 5 PM, with occasional weekend activities.
