About the role#
The Resettlement Case Management Intern supports the resettlement team in welcoming refugees, asylees, and other humanitarian immigrants to the Baltimore area. You will work directly with clients and families to help them navigate their initial arrival and promote self-sufficiency. This role offers the chance to learn about effective case management strategies and the resources available to humanitarian immigrants in Maryland.
What you'll do#
- Assist clients with essential services, including housing set-ups and activating EBT cards.
- Coordinate transportation for clients to medical and other required appointments.
- Conduct orientation sessions in the office, at home, or in the community on topics like opening bank accounts and using public transportation.
- Manage service documentation, including case-notes and file maintenance.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Fluency in English is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as web-based databases and Box.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Prior experience or interest in working with refugees and immigrants is preferred.
- Students in Human Resources, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, International Relations, or Business Administration are encouraged to apply.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Baltimore, Maryland.
- The role is hybrid, requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.
- The term runs from September 14, 2026, through December 18, 2026.
- Interns are expected to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week.
- This is an unpaid position, though interns are eligible for a per diem reimbursement of $15 per day to offset food and travel costs.
