About the role#
This internship focuses on learning the basics of college campus ministry within the Michigan Lower Peninsula region. You will work to advance the mission of InterVarsity while developing your own spiritual understanding and leadership skills. This position is open to students currently enrolled in a four-year or community college. Eligibility depends on your year of study, with specific requirements for students at two-year versus four-year institutions.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the campus ministry team to help cast spiritual vision and direction.
- Contribute to team plans for spiritual growth and transformation.
- Teach students how to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
- Promote the mission on campus to build witnessing communities that are bolder, broader, and ethnically diverse.
- Proclaim the Gospel and help guide chapters in strategic thinking.
- Model and encourage a love for people of every ethnicity and culture.
- Engage with supervision and training provided by your staff ministry trainer or director.
- Serve as an ambassador to ministry partners and churches.
What you'll need#
- You are a follower of Jesus Christ.
- You can annually affirm the InterVarsity Statement of Agreement.
- You have a developing passion for evangelism.
- You demonstrate leadership qualities such as initiative, self-awareness, cross-cultural competence, and relational maturity.
- You are eager to learn and work well within a team.
- Relevant academic backgrounds include Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Michigan.
- The position is on-site and part-time.
- This is a paid internship. Compensation is funded through personal fundraising, and your salary depends on your ability to secure a donor team to cover the costs.
